International Contacts
Living in Colombia, South America, there are a lot of professional contacts that I have at my job. I teach at an American school that is SACS accredited. Throughout the whole school (2 yrs old to 12th grade) we have 15 foreign hires. The rest of the teachers are Colombian native teachers. I will hopefully be using myself as well as others in my facility to be able to pick their brain for ideas and views on a variety of topics. Below is a link to a promotional video of my school so you can kind of get a feel for where I work. It is a very wealthy private school and the majority of the students are native Colombians.
I have decided to explore the Association for Childhood Education International (ACEI)’s website. I chose this website because it explores childhood issues and news internationally. Being overseas I feel like I would relate more to these issues than a specific culture or just in the U.S. I look forward to everyone’s different perspectives on these issues.
I also decided to explore the Zero To Three: National Center for Infants, Toddlers, and Families website. I chose this website because I feel like they have many resources for children and families. I have used this website many times with other assignments and discussions.

Hi Stephanie,
It is wonderful that you will be able to use your co workers for their help. I’m sure they will be able to provide for you helpful insights. I’m looking forward to the new insights that you will gain from the organizations that you have chose. During my first class through Walden, I loved reading Zero to Three website and often times use them as resources in my assignments. Good luck on your journey!

Hi Stephanie
Thank you for your post. This is my first time hearing about the Association for Childhood Education International. I will definitely be taking a more in depth look into that organization and viewing your blog for more insight into education outside of the United States. Thanks.
Stephanie,
We’ve been in several classes together so far and it was neat to see that promo video you shared. It gave me a great taste and visual as far as your school and experience is concerned. Thanks for posting that! I look forward to learning more from you as you have a different perspective than many of us do.
